Non-profit, Religious Based Organization Financial Template – Churches, Temples, Synagogues, Mosques, etc.
Video Tutorial:
This financial template was built to benefit any non-profit, religious organization, of any faith or denomination (churches, temples, synagogues, mosques, etc.). Such organizations require prudent financial planning to account for the various startup and operational costs. Individuals must plan for how long it will take their organization to become sustainable. This template does this, as well as shows how increase in attendance affects growth of the organization.
The first 5 years, for any organization, is crucial to success and sustainability. This template projects 60 months’ worth of growth on an annual and monthly basis. Logic embedded within the template is specifically tailored to fit the needs of religious organizations. One nice feature of the template is how it accounts for the starting month that and operational cost will begin as well as determining actual costs of each item, which can simply be switched on or off.
Revenue is generated from built in assumptions based on user inputs. Assumptions include: average household income in a given area, average percentage of income that is expected to be donated (tithed), and average amount of incoming tithes added per month (i.e., new members joining the organization).
Break-even month is determined by user inputs and the template allows users to compare different scenarios based on projected numbers. Debt payments, running debt, and cash balances are calculated in the monthly and annual cash flow summaries.
The template is user friendly and includes color coded, editable cells. A “notes” tab, as well as descriptions and comments within relevant cells, has been included to increase users' understanding of how expense items may, or may not, affect their specific situation/ scenario.
