This excel management tool is a simplistic model that assists with weekly scheduling. It includes smart summaries to check schedules that have been pre-configured in order to find discrepancies between availability and the defined schedule for that week. Conditional formatting is utilized for this module.

Users start by entering the week start day and workday start hour. Then users fill in availability for each employee over a seven-day span. Finally, users input the intended schedule with start and end times for each employee for that week. 

Following the above user inputs, summaries will be populated based on formulas within the template. The main summary shows how many people have been scheduled for each 30-minute time slot within the seven-day period. This ensures adequate coverage during all time blocks. Blocks of time with zero people scheduled will highlight red, alerting users of gaps of time with no coverage.

The second summary cross checks employee’s availability with times they were scheduled. Blocks of time that employees are scheduled that are outside of their availability will highlight red.

This model is user friendly and allows data to be entered manually or by using the included drop-downs. When manually entering dates, the dropdown will auto-populate all options that start with the numbers being entered. This template can be used via Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. The finished schedule is easily printed from either platform.
